Static hosting for parishes and churches

Parish and church sites are typically managed by a volunteer or part-time staff member, run on Drupal or WordPress from 2014, and exist to serve the parish community: mass times, ministries, bulletins, contact.

What a typical parish site looks like

Homepage with mass schedule, about, staff/clergy, ministries, sacraments, bulletins (linked PDFs by week), calendar, contact.

Migration is one of the most welcome we do. Volunteer-managed sites accumulate maintenance debt fast; static migration retires the entire debt at once. The pastor or office manager continues to email content updates; the site keeps running indefinitely.

Trade-specific things to know

  • Bulletin PDFs accumulate weekly. We preserve the archive and add new ones via content updates.
  • Online giving links (WeShare, Pushpay) are external — unaffected.
  • Parish calendar / events list — we preserve as-is and update through the included content updates.

Our take

Parishes are exactly the cohort €600-once-forever was built for. Annual hosting fees come out of donations; turning that into a one-time fee frees up budget that can do more good elsewhere.

Questions

What about online giving?

Online giving runs on a separate platform (WeShare, Pushpay, Givelify). The website just links to it — unaffected by migration.
