FAQ

If your question isn't here, email timo@skadi.chat.

Can I still update content after migration?

Yes. Send us the changes by email and we apply them. Two content updates per year are included on Standard, six on Premium. Most updates take less than a day.

Do you really mean forever?

As long as your subscription is active, your site stays online. We don't raise prices on grandfathered plans. If you cancel, we deliver a complete archive of your static site so you keep ownership and can host it anywhere.

What if I want to add features later?

Custom feature work is quoted per project. Most additions a small business needs (a new page, a contact form, a small blog) are within the included content updates. Anything bigger is a discovery call away.

Will my SEO be preserved?

URLs are preserved 1:1, with redirects for anything that moved. Sitemap and schema markup are regenerated. Search consoles see no break. Page-load speed almost always improves on Cloudflare's CDN, which Google rewards.

What about my domain and email?

We move the domain to Cloudflare DNS — you keep ownership. Email is bring-your-own (we never touch your MX records unless you want us to). Email forwarding for up to 5 addresses is available for €5/month if you want it bundled.

Why is this cheaper than my current host?

Static hosting is fundamentally cheaper than running PHP on a server. Cloudflare's CDN is essentially free at small-business volume. We save the infrastructure cost and pass most of it on to you. The flat-monthly model is the difference.

Can you migrate WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla?

Yes — those are the primary targets. We also handle hand-rolled PHP sites, ColdFusion sites, and most other CMSes that produce HTML pages. The free assessment will tell you whether your specific site fits the standard plan.

What if my assessment comes back red?

Red usually means active e-commerce, member-only content, a single-page application, or a site over 500 pages. These need custom scoping. Book a 30-minute discovery call and we'll tell you whether we can help and what it would cost.

Who is behind lastupdate.site?

Skadi Oy, a Helsinki software company that has been migrating legacy sites for clients since 2017. lastupdate.site is the productized version of that work. The contact email goes to a real human who reads it.
